Pinoso is
a traditional town which sits about 40 minutes' drive
inland from Alicante airport. It used to be an
agricultural town, being wine the main product of the
area.
Pinoso has a sports centre with indoor and outdoor
swimming pools, football pitches and tennis courts.
There is also a theatre and medical centre in town
plus lots of restaurants and bars where you can sample
the local food.
The local market is held on Saturdays where fruit,
vegetables, clothes etc can be bought. Other markets
are held most days in the nearby towns, with some huge
markets on Sunday.
There is a thriving English community locally, English
food and newspapers are readily available and some
local bars hold regular quiz and bingo nights.
Only about 56kms to Alicante airport and blue flag
beaches, 30kms to the nearest large service centre of
Elda and 35kms to the nearest golf course (Alenda).
Pinoso has a solid infrastructure with a selection of
modern amenities including medical centre, schools,
theatres, restaurants, bars, shops, supermarkets,
indoor fresh produce market held every day, excellent
sports centre with outdoor and indoor swimming pool,
tennis courts, football pitches and gymnasium. A
street market is held on Sunday at Alguena a peaceful
farming village 6kms from Pinoso.
