Description
A pretty
whitewashed village house, recently restored to a high
standard, complete with beamed ceilings and wooden shutters.
The house comprises four floors, the main entrance brings
you to the first floor with fully-equipped kitchen and
beautifully furnished living/dining area with antique
wood-burning stove and sprung bed-settee. A large table is
situated by the balcony door, ideal to dine
at any time of the day. To the right of the side entrance, down the side
of the house is the ground floor storage area with washing
machine and freezer. On the second floor is a large open
plan area with double bed, built-in Moroccan style wardrobe.
A separate bathroom with shower is also located on this
floor. On the third floor there is a roof terrace with
furniture, with stunning views of the majestic mountains and
the village below.

About the village
Guajar
Alto is a traditional Spanish mountain village in the Sierra
de las Guajares mountains, in Andalucia. There are two
villages
that are passed on the road to Guajar Alto, these are called
Guajar Fondón and Guajar Faraguit - with Guajar Alto, the
three are known as Los Guájares. Guajar Alto, is 400 mtrs
above sea level, and is quite rightly known as one of the
most beautiful villages
in the Granada region
With its winding, quiet streets, beautiful church and
abundance of plants and flowers, Guajar Alto makes a perfect
base for a holiday retreat. Although the village is peaceful
and is off-the-beaten-track, it’s provisioned with excellent
services including four bars, three of which serve food, a
small grocery shop and a bus service to both the nearest
town of Motril on the coast, and to the historic
town of Granada.
Fresh bread is also brought to the village five times a day
from local bakeries. Local delicacies include the freshly
churned goats cheese and curd as well as wild honey, all of
which are available within the village. Guajar Alto is also
the proud recipient of the pure spring water that feeds into
the village at three different locations
