Los
Balcones, is built on the slopes of the "Saline De
Torrevieja". This salt lake is a "Parc Natural", a
protected wildlife area. The algae in the water
gives the lake a pinkish tinge at certain times of
the year, and this also makes the clouds turn
pinkish also.
The CV-95 route runs through Los Balcones, this
route links the N332 coast road with the AP37
motorway, and is the direct road from Torrevieja to
San Miguel, and Orihuela.
Just 5 minutes by car you can find the busy town of
Torrrevieja where you will find plenty of shops and
bars, there is also a street market in the evenings
where you can stroll alongside the hustle and bustle
of the Spanish ,taking in the harbour and promenade,
and taking a peek at the sandcastle displays on the
beach! don't forget your cameras!
Other surrounding areas are made for the tourists
giving you plenty of places to explore, based along
a coastal road you can drive to either La Manga or
Benidorm both within a hours drive away!
A visit to Benidorm is well worth a day trip, taking
in Terra Mitica theme park or Spains largest water
park Mundomar, eating out is as cheap and then enjoy
the many shows in the evening!
Another must is a visit to Guadalast to see stunning
views from the top of the monastery! where there are
shops and restaurants to visit. free admission just
pay to park! Also nearby a visit to the water falls
is again well worth a visit
