Guardamar Del Segura really is a paradise on the Costa Blanca mainly due to the dunes, forests and beaches all set in harmony. Guardamar town has a population of around 11,000. In history it took its place as the protector of the river Segura. The area boasts about 12km of sandy beach, with a mix of old Mediterranean and pine trees. Guardamar is positioned strategically on a hill looking over the Vega Baja

Of course, water sports are big in this part of the region. Every type is catered for including windsurfing, underwater diving, sailing, water-skiing, jet skiing and canoeing. A top class marina also has its home at Guardamar. The Marina de las Dunas is located at the mouth of the river and offers some 498 moorings.

Top quality prawns and the very best rice dishes are offered by the local restaurants. Of course there are many fine bars in the town offering superb tapas at very reasonable prices.

There is a broad range of sport facilities within Guardamar del Segura, including the superb Las Rabosas and the Municipal centre. The Municipal centre boasts 3 football pitches, an Olympic swimming-pool, five a side soccer pitches, tennis
courts and basketball courts.
